GORE RACES. By Telegraph—-Press Association. GORE, October 24. The spring meeting of the Gore Racing Club was opened to-day. Results:—' Charlton Handicap, 7 furlongs.— Rosebloom 1, Quicksilver 2, Sirius 3. Also stared—Kea. Won easily. Time, I'min 2seC. Dividend, £1 19s. District Hack, 6 furlongs.—Cross Guard I,*! Office Boy 2. Also stared —Maystone, The Tyrant, Cooee, Frew and E.P.Q. Cbtiee won the race,' but a protest was lodged by the owner of the second horse (Cross Guard) on the ground that the winner was not eligible, being trained outside the radius provided in the conditions. The protest was upheld, Cooes being trained at Riverton, eight miles beyond the radius. The money Invested on her was returned to the supporters less commission, and the raoe awarded to Cross Guard. Time, Imin 20 2-sseo. Dividends, £1 13s and 18s. Spring Handicap, 1 mile and a distance.—Heroism 1, Delarey 2, Quicksilver 3. —Also started—Wondertul. Won by three lengths. Time, 2min 2seq. Dividend, £1 15s. Visitors Hack, 7 furlongs—Stormout 1, Tramp 2, Office Girl 3. Also started—The Romany and Rnbrette. Won easily. Time, Imin 33 'Dividend, £5 31s. Fying Handicap, 6 furlongs.— Blying Spark 1, 'loney 2, Rosebloom 3. Regiment also started. Won by half a leugth. Dividend, £2 Is.
Waimea Hack Handicap, 5 furlongs.—Lupelite 3, Order 2, Somateria 3. Won by half a length. A good raoe. Time, Imin 3sec. Dividends, £7 lis and £1 2s. CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB. HANDICAPS.
