SfciCOND DAY. (Special Rflporfcars). For People's Day of their annual Show the Wairarapa aud Bast Coast P. and A. Society were favoured with glorious weather. The attendance was estimated at over 6,000, whioh is a record for the Society. There were numerous attractions for visitors in the way of side shows. The ring events were very interesting. Everything went off without a hitch. The Secretary (Mr j H. S, Moss) and the Committee had j all the arrangements complete. horses. The show of horses yesterday was far more interesting than on the previous day. Nine stallions were shown altogether, and Mr V. O'Neill's Silver Charme* won the pony championship. r lhe carriage horses were a veiy good class. Out of a very good lot of hacks those suitable for carrying list riders pleased the judges moat. The competition for the Challenge Cup was very keen "Tho jumping was simply excellent; in fact the best jumping ( have Been," said Mr A. .Bill, the judge. The onp waa won by Mr G. L. Suuderland's "Juggler." In the draughts competition was good, and the judge's comments on the class as a whole were ver/y favourable. The stallions over four years were a very even lot, but there was more size than quality in thorn. The fillies foaled sinoe August Ist, 1903, were a well-grown lot. Mr Q. Donaid's Dinah secured first place. The dry mares were a really good lot. Mr ft. Smith carried off the oharripioaehip.
PIGS. TChe show in pfga was confined to fecal breeders, there being au ab•aenoe of exhibits from such breeders as Messrs Slack Bros. and Jarviß, of Palmersfcou North. Dhe number of entries this year is in excess of those last year by 38. The best sihow was made m Yorkshires, het the exhibits generally foere not up to the of last year. There were no Tain worths shown. Mr 0. Morgan secured the championship in Yorkshire boars, and Mr J. Standen m Bersshire sows.

Ie the riding oomnetitions for boy-sand -girls uniSer;l4 years of age some very good riding was seen. Some excellent jumping was witnessed in the competition for the Chalieuge Cup. This was eventually won rtssr D- Noake,a Mignon. The buck - jumping competition proved Kj.ne of the best items of the day, and aomo good horsemanship was witnessed. The winner was Mr J. McDoaald, who rode cylendidly. 00mpetition was hold in draught [horses. K. Johnstone, jur., of Masterton, who won the first prize, placed the same animals first and second as the judge, The second .prize winner., T. P. Oampbell, placed the flm animal oorreotly, but his deoißiun as to the second fcud third animals was reversed by the jo ige. fNDUSIKIAL EXHIBITS. As on the first day, great interest was taken iu this section, crowds of spectators being constantly around the various exhibits, Exbibiturs were able to make a good show,and excellent business was reported to hare been'done by thorn all.
JJENKINSON AND CO., LTD. This company were to fciio front with an exceptionally fine display of motor oars, whioh attracted a largo amount of public interest. A. S. JUDD. Mr Judd, of Carterton, had a varied exhibit of cycles for which be is the agent, including the popular Centaur, Premier, Rothweil and U.S.A. machine?, ns well as an extensive assortment of accessories of every description. A eplendidly-built Minerva motor bicycle was also on view,and was greatly admired by all who saw it. Mr Judd makes specialty of motor-car and motor bicycle repairs, to which be makes reference on page 1 of this issue. DONALD AND SONS, LTD. Farmers and settlers generally always take an interest in the exhibits made by Messrs DonalJ and Sods, and in their display, yesterday, they made a speoiaity of woo! presses, jacks, and wire strainers. All of these three linos are greatly in demand at presont, and the firm have some difficulty iu suppiying thQ numerous orders. T. DWY3R AND CO. The display by the "Talkeries," of Masterton, iuoluded all the latest in the phonographic world. In addition to the various machines tho firm have at the Mnsterton depot, it is worthy of note that they hoH very heavy stocks of records of eve*y description.
