DISASTROUS CYCLONE IN HAVANA.

. HAVANA. October 19. A disastrous eylone raged over Cuba yesterday. Great damage was done to property, and many people were killed. The American troops were forced to ebandon their camp in Columbia.

Received Ootober 21, 4.4.1 p.m. NEW YORK, Ootober 20. Reports from Havana state that a cyclone—the worst on record—-has been experienced. Buildings were shaken as if by an earthquake. , ~ Many houses in the poorer quarters collapsed. Ninety-four natives and sixteen foreign residents were killed. The fatalities would have been greater bat for the timely warning which the people bad of the approach of the storm, thus enabling them to gain shelter. The shipping in Havana Harbour suffered severely, no fewer than 35 lighters being destroyed. The American cruiser Brooklyn became stranded, but was refloated. She was somewhat damaged. Extensive damage was done to the crops at Penadelris.
