GLADSTONE.
(From Our Own Correspondent,)
Friday. Messrs Grace Bros have just finished alterations to their woolshed. A large Jean-to has been added to the back of the abed wMoh will hold an additional three hundred sheep. In case p£ wet weather enough sheep oan be penned for a full day's shearing. New yards have also been erected at the woolshed. Great interest is being manifested by the boys of the local school in gardening. The school now presents a very neat appearance; hedges have been planted along . the road fence; plots having been allotted to tr>e boys of the npper standards, who have got to work with a will, and the vegetables look very promising. I am told by people who have seen most of the school gnrdens in the Wairßrapa, chat the local school is ahead of any of them. Great credit is due to Mies Piggford, the teacher of the boys. Shearing has commenced at Glenside Station, a start having been made on Mr N. Strangs stud sheep. The wool is very clean and bright, and promises to be in good condition this season.
