Messrs Dalgety and Co.', Ltd., report as under.At Masterton, on Wednesday, we held a speoial sale of pigs on account of Mr H. Hume. There was spirited competition, all lots selling at high prioes. Six to 10 months slips reached 21s to 2Ss, small breeding sows 21s to 335. .On Thursday we held our opening sale for the season at the Alfredton yards, when there waa a larce attendance of buyers. The list chiefly comprised sheep, for which there was a good demand, all being sold. Hoggets renobed Us to 15s"3d, wethers 17s 3d to 19s, ewes with 100 per oent lambs 21s, ewes with small percentages of lambs 16s Gd, empty ewes 9s 9d to 14s Bd, store cows 50s, 18 months steers 50s, yearlings 30s, working bulllooks (team of eight) £6 15s, yearling draught colt £l7 15s. A large assortment of implements and sundries were sold at satisfactory prioes. On Friday we held our fortnightly sale at the Eketahuna yards, when there was a heavy entry of cattle, and a good yarding of Sheep. There was a good enquiry for sheep, and all Hues, were sold. Cattle were chiefly represented by young sorts, all of which found purchasers. Dairy heifers were not in demand, and apart from these practically a complete clearance was made. Hoggets sold from 13s 3d to 15s 3d, ewes and lambs 17s 7d, 3year steers 77a, yearling steers and heifers 20s to 325, 18 months and 2year heifers 355, yearling heifers 21s to 24s 6d, 18 months and 2-year steers 475, ag«d cows and calves 38s, aged uows 30s, cows in full profit 80s, springing heifers 60s.

STOCK SALE REPORTS,

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having conducted a most successful Bale of dairy stock on behalf of Mr Hillas, Mauriceville, yesterday. The herd was a really good one, and would have sold even to better avantage a few weeks ago. Buyers from a distance were* % prominent and operated freely, bidding being keen throughout. bb> ! follows:—At our fortnightly stock sale at JEketahuna yesterday, sheep entries were represented by ewes aud lambs, for whioh line we had good competition. In cattle we yarded a very large number; embracing all classes. All young stook found a ready market, as did any good steers or empty heifeis, but dairy stock, old oovs and bad coloured steers were very hard to quit at low rates. For lines fiold we quote:—Ewes and lambs, 20s; 3year steers, 755; 2 year steors 50s; 18-months ' heifers, 32s 6d to 355; yearlings, 25s to 31s; oalves, 18s to 20s; dairy heifers, forward, 50s to 60s. Weaner pigs, milk cows, and pony at fair prices.
