STREET IMPROVEMENT.
The committee appointed by the Masterton Borough Council to interview the land owners interested in providing an outlet from Makora Road towards Kuripuoi Street and the widening of Makora Road reported as follows to the meeting of the Boroußh Counoil last evening:— Mr E. Jones was prepared to let the Oonncil have one ohain of his land; also to let the Council have the necessary land to make a obain road through his seofciona in Kuripuoi Street for the sum of £100; the Ooanoil to make the roads and do the fencing. He would also give the Council 33ft from his land on tbe south side fronting Kuripuni Street, to widen the latter to one chain, the Council to remove and reerect tbe fencing and make the road and footpath and remove a small building. Mr R. Petarsen was prepared to give 540 links by 16ft 6in of his land on the east side of the road to widen Makora Road. He would also let the Counoil have land to continue that road oqe chain wide from the present end 'of the road to Mr Jones' boundary, for tbe sum of £BO, the Council to shift and erect fences and make the road. Mrs M. Uoliius said she was willing to let the Council have tbe portion of her land required for the new road for the sum of £SO, the Counoil to erect fences and put in two gates where required to give access to the paddocks divided by tbe road, and to make the road and footpath. The report was adopted. .
