The receipts for -the month were £582 33 3d. Five new services had been laid, and seven new meters connected. In view of the fact that the material for the new gas-holder will Hhortly be shipped from Eng land, the manager recommended that tbe necessary alterations to the mains at tbe works be proceeded with immediately as it would be very awkward if the yards were dug up while tbe holder is being ereoted. With reference to the purohase of gas meters, the manager considered that it would pay the Caunoil to import the meters direct from the manufacturers in England. He preferred dry meters to wet meters, and recommended the Council to empower him to indent a sample order of meters.
The manager was authorised So indent a. sample oriier of dry meters. Mr Blackmann was also empowered to carry out the necessary alterations to the mains at tbe works.
