EGG-LAYING.
UTILITY GLUE'S COMPETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. GHRISTOHUROH, October 15. The statement for the week ended Ootober 12th shows that 2,142 eggs were hid by the birds in the Utility Poultry Club's second egg-laying competition at Lincoln College, bringing the total to date to 21,686. The highest totals for tbe week were:—Alexandra Poultry Company's White Plymouth Rooks 34, W. E. Jones' White Wyandottes 33, O. R. Wilson's Black Orpingtons 33. The best totals to date are:— M. Blanch's Silver Wyanlottes 476, F. O'Brien's Silver Wyandottes 414, H. Walton's White Opingtous 361.
