EXPERIMENTS WITH ROOT CROPS.
MANURES TO BE USED,
A meeting of the committee from the Masterton A. and P. Association and tbe Wairarapa P. and A. Sooioty, appointed to arrange for the conduct of experiments in connection with the growing of root crops, was held during last weak. 'lbe committee recommended to the General Committee of tho Masterton A. and P. Association, on Saturday, that tbe following combination of munnres be used:— No. It Bones 1001 bs, superphosphate lOOlbs. No. 2: Bones lOOlbs, supwrphoaphate 751 baf, .sulphate of. ammonia 25lbs. . No. 3: Bones lOOlbs, superphosphate 50ibs, kainit 50Ibs. No. 4: Basic slag lOOlbs, bones 501bs, superphosphate 501bs. No. 5: Bones lOOlbs, blood manure lOOlbs No. 6: Wellington Meat Export Company's No. ! manure 200lbs, or Gear Company's turnip manure 2001bs. No. 7: Wellington Meat Export Company's No. 3 manure 2001bs. No. 8: Fison'a turnip mannre 2001bs. The following conditions were imposed:-—A strip of ground across each pint to be limed at the rate of half a ton to the aore; all mauutes supplied to be of guaranteed analysis; anyone wishing to oonduot an experiment with manures unt enumerated, tho Association will endeavourto get the same analysed; seeds of guaranteed germinating power will be provided free of onarge, experimentalists to bo provided with properly drawn-up forms for recording experiments in a systematic manner. The report was adopted.
