FIRE IN A TUNNEL.
NEW YORK, Ootober 12,
Defective electrical wires caused a a tuncel which is being constructed, between Long Island and New York. Two English foremen, named Chapman and Pierce, rushed into the place and roused and saved 23 men. Tbe two men then returned to rescue others, bat perished in the attempt.
