CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor). Sir,—Some little time ago there appeared a paragraph iu your columns, re Mr J. O. Eastwood, of T&ranaki, growing potatoes free from blight, by using a prooess of 61bs of nitrate of potash, and 61b9 snlphate of ammonia, dissolved in 2p gallons water, and allow the potatoes to remain in soak for 24 hours, and also allow 24 hours to dry before planting. On October 4th, a subscriber, who ever he may be, evidently does not give Mr Eastwood's preparation a very good recommendation, as he says He tried the same quo it blackened his potatoes; they all went rotten and none have germinated. Of course, Mr Eastwood and his take nil the blame. In due consideration and in justice to Mr Eastwood, 1 feel it ray duty to ask all who have read both letters not to be iu the least afraid of Mr Eastwood's preparation in any way, as there is nothing in it to injure the potato; not a new one to ine as I have been u*ing potash ammonia and bluestone, also lime, with my seed potatoes with good results. lam also going to exhibit two potatoes that have been through the prooess at the Garter ton Show, aud also one week previous at Messrs Graham and On.'s store.—l am, etc., JUSTICE. Lansdowne, October Bth, 1906.
