THE LAND BILL.

By Telegraph—Presa Asßooi ation. IJANNBVIKKB, October 12. A meeting, called under the auspices of the Farmers' Union, waß held here to day, to discus 9 the Land Bill, and was attended by about 50 settlers, including some of tbe principal runhoiders in Hawke's Bay. Mr Sanders, Provincial President, and spoke against tbe Bill. Several other speakers opposed tbe Bill. Mr Mathew Tansey proposed "that as the Land Act Amendment Bill is so opposed to tbe unanimous wtaheß of tbe farmers, it cnnnot be in the best interests of tbe country, aud all tbe forcen of the Farmers' Union throughout the colony are requested to 00-operate in opposing it." Tbe motion was carried unanimously.
