NEW BATTLESHIPS. Received October 11, 9.47 p.m. LONDON, Ootober 11. The Daily Telegrnph states that three armoured cruisers, whioh are being built at the Clyde and Elswick Works, prove to be really 25 to 27-knot turbine battleships of 17,250 tuns displacement, with a broadside Are as heavy as the Dreadnought's. The vessels are much faster than the Dreadnought and rather less heavily armoured.
