MASTERTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
The senior girls of tho cookery olasees nfc the Masterton District High Suhool entertuined the mem. bers of the Masterton School Committee at a dinner in the new por *,ion of the sohool last evening. Mr W. H. Jackson, Headmaster, presided, and besides the members of tho School Committee there were also present—The Mayor (Mr J. a. Renail), C. E. Daniell (Chair man of the Trust Lands Trust) and Mr E. Feist, aud several members of the teaching stall; at the school. The table was very tastefully decorated. The menu, which was all that could be desired, oonsisted of soups, fish, entrees, poultry, joints, sweets, tea and coffee. The visitors expressed themselves as highly pleased with the dinner, ana congratulated Miss Talbot, the in structress of the cooking class, on the advancement that tbo pupils had made. After tho dinner the following toast list was honoured: "The King;" "Masterton District High Sohool," Mr E. Feist—Messrs W. H. Jaokson, R. Brown and T. Duncan; "Borough Council," Mr E. H. Waddington the Mayor; "Trust Lands Trust," Mr R. Brown—Mess r s C. E. ''Daniell and J. A. Renall; "The Cookery Instructress and Cookery Classes," Mr C. E. Daniell —Mr A. B. Charters; "Masterton Sohool Committee," Mr W. H. Jackson—Mr G. Townsend. The gathering dispersed after singing "God Save the King."
