Tbe deputation vvaa largely intended as a protest against the iufiammtory appeals made by the native officer, Nath Benerjee, tbe leader of tbe reoent agitation against tbe partition of Bengal, who was reported tbe other day to have Oeen "crowned," to Hindu Religious fanaticism. The Mohammedans profess loyalty. They desire to safeguard the rights of the minorities uader representative institutions.
