THE LAND BILL.
By Telegraph—Press Asaooiation. 3 HASTINGS, October 1. At i well-attended meeting of the Hastings Farmers' Union the following resolution was' passed:—"That this branub, having considered the juand Act Amendment Bill, is of opinion that no form of tenure will give satisfaction to the farming community unless it inoludes the option to acquire the freehold. The income annually derived from this source "would enable the Government to purchase suitable lands for settlement, nnd obviate further borrowing." In regard to the limitation clause, the branch considers it drastic and unfair to owners, and of no use to those desirous of taking up land. The branch, therefore, disapprove 3 of the Land Bill, and considers it should b«s submitted to the people before becoming law.
