Until China reoognises the validity of the land deeds connwoted with Japanese settlement in Hiucbwang and consents to Japan reimbursing herself out of the Customs for oatlay on roads and sanitation there, Japan retains several hundred thousand pounds of Customs money deposited in the Yokohama specie bank.
