NIREAHA.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) Monday. Mr W. McDonald, of Nireaha, has secured the contract to clear the local recreation ground. The employees of Messrs Udy and Co., Hukaoui, gave a danoe in the Hukauui Hall on Friday last. A meeting of tho local branch of the Farmers' Union will be . called shortly the proposed Land Bill. A social, arranged by the recreation ground trustees, was held on Friday evening, and proved a very successful affair. The hall was tastefully decorated. About 50 couples were present. Messrs B. Drysdale and Hardyinent acted ns M's.O. The musio was supplied by Mr and Mrs Hall. Extras were played by Mesdaraes Smai»x and Hardyment, MisHea Harcomb and Andrews, and Mr J. A. Daysh. Songs were sung by Messrs Chew, Smith and Hardyment, and Misa Drysdale, aud selections wero given on a phonograph lent by Mr B. Drysdale. About £7 was taken at the door. The social was in aid of tno recreation ground fund. The recreation ground committee and Mr J. McKeazie, the popular seoretary, had all the arrangements complete.
