WELLINGTON WOOL, HIDE AND SKIN SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., report:— We held oar fortnightly sale of wool akin, hides and tallow, on Friday afternoon. Wool: Only bag lota offering. Skins: As compared with the sale of a fortnight ago, prices showed a further drop of )£d all round. There was no good Hues offering, and we quote:—Pine oroesbreria 7%d to iuerino to Bd, dead 6)£d to 7d, inferior and broken €d to groeu 7a and 7a lOd, lambs (green) Is (id. Hides: Competition was keen, and these showed a further advance on last sale ratea of from to Wo quote:— Heavy ox o%d io 6%d, medium ox 6d to 634 d, light ox 5d to 5%d, heavy cow toG>ad, medium cow 6d to l>ght cow 5%d to 5%d, yearlings oalf to 6%d. Tallow: in tins 15a 9d to lGa 6d. Messrs Levin and Co. report as follows: We offered a Bmull catalogue of wool, 2,300 skins, 370 hides and a quHntity of talluw and horsehair. Wool: Thero was only a poor collection offering and the -market, owing to the eaeier tone in London, was lower. Wo quote:— . Coarse orcesbred 7d to Bd, inferior and log-stained 6a to G%d, pieces and beliies 4>£a to s>£d, orutuhings (good) s>£d to Gd, omtahiuga (seedy and inferior) to aicins: Prices were jsd lower in sympathy with the fall in London—Wo quote: —•Merinos to Bd, flue crossbred -8d to B%d, tioarao crossbred 3d to B>£d, dead auins to 7%d, aead hoggets G>i|d to short wools 6}£d to 7d, lambs skins 7d to 7%d, woolly green skins 7s to 8s 2d. Tallow: Strong competition ac advancing prices. Parcels in shipping order sold at £25. Tins £lB to £l9, xougb fat £l4 15s. Horsehair: Is 6d to Is 8d per lb. Horns: 7s to 2Ua per 100. Hides: Bidding was very Jieen, and prices advanced %A. We quote.:—Ox hides (extra heavy) 6%d, ox hides (701bs and over) to 6>£d, ox hides (GUlbs to 701bs) 6d ox hides (501bs to GOlbs) 6d to cow hides (SOlbs to GOlbs; <6d to 6J4d, cow hides (40!bs to 501bs) €d to oalf skins (best) 7d to 7%d, caif skins (cut) s>£d to 6e, ■calfskins (slippy) 3d to oat and slippy hides 4}£d to stag Jhides 4>£d to sd, bull hides 3>£d to 4%d. The next sale will be held on October 12th, 1906. The New Zealand Loan and ivleroantile Agency Co., Ltd., report us follows:—At our sale, on Friday, we offered and sold a fair-sized cataJogue of wool, sheepskins, hides aud tallow. Prices for wool and skinß, in sympathy with lower prices in London, dropped from t£d to 3£d per lb. A feature of the sale was the large quantity of caifkins offering. Wool: Mo bale lots offered; sack lots realised:— Medium crutohinga 6d to 6>ja, iuferior and seedy u>utohings 4d to s}£d, dead . wool 7}£d to Bd. sheepskins: Fine orossbred bred 8d to B>£d, dead skins from to Bd, inferior aud broken from s}£d to green skins from •5s 6d to 8s 3d each, hides: Sound ox and cow 5%d to slippy and damaged 4d to s>£d, calfskins(sound) 6d to 7%d, calfskins (cut and damaged) 3d to s>£d per lb. Tallow: Good mixed, in shipping condition, realized up to 20s 3d, tins from JBs 3d - to 20a 6d per owt.
