BOROUGH PARK COMMITTEE.
A meeting of tho Masterton Borough Park Committee was held' last evening. There were present:— Ore J. 0. Ewington (ohairman)j F. W, Temple, T. G. Hoar, W. Morris, and J. Elliott. The Masterton Crieket Council wrote acplying for the use of the Park Oval for criuket on Thursdays and Saturdays during the ooming season. The Council desired to know when the Oval would be ready for use, and what would be the rent. It was decided to grant the use of tho Oval for orioket at a rental of £l2 10a, on the same conditions as last year. The Carlton Cricket Club wrote applying for the use of the Oval to play a matoh, married v. single, on Thursday next. Permission was granted for the matoh to be played, provided the custodian considers the ground fit to play on. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society wrote applying for the use of the Park Oval for their annual snorts on January Ist, 1907. Consideration of the letter was held over. Ihe Minister of Lands wrote stating that as soun aa the now Scenery Preservation Boird. had been appointed, the question of soenery preservation on the banks of the Waipoua Kiver, north of Masterton, would be referred to the Board for attention and recommendation.
