LANGDALE.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Wednesday. A public meeting was held in the Langdale Schoolroom, "on September 22nd, to oonsider tbejmatter of ■erecting a public hall. The meeting was largely attended. Mr H. Morrison occupied the chair. The Chairman briefly explained the object of the meeting, and pointed out that for some time past the residents had felt the want of a public hall for entertainments, eto., and tbat the only means rif procuring a hall •would be by publio subscription. JJefore this meeting had taken place the Langdale Domain Board held a meeting and unanimously agreed to offer a site upon which to build a publio hall. After some discussion on the matter it was decided to accept the offer of the Domain Board, and £26 10s was collected in the room. It wns deoided to send out lists for canvassing subscriptions, and an adequate amount for the purpose is fully expeoted, The matter was ultimately left in the hands of the Domain Board to make all arrangements.
