The New York.Eveniog Poßt states that the Atlanta outbreak is the result of a campaign of denunciation of negroes which the politicians and press o£ Georgia have pursued during the past six months. One newspaper offered a reward of one thousand dollars for killing" every negro aooused of assaulting a white woman. / POLICE AMBUSHED.. Reoeived September 26, 8.32 a.m. NEW YORK, September 25. The negroes of Atlanta ambushed and killed a police officer and wounded four out of ten constables. The raat of the officers killing several negroes. NEGROES PROCURING ARMS. Received September 26, 9.48 p.m. NEW YORK, September 26. A thousand Brownsville have procured arms with tile object of retaliating on the whites. The police are closeiy watohing the Clark University at Brownsville, where there are four hundred negro students. Some of the professors und Htudents have teen arrested.
