BEAUTIFYING THE PARK.

TENDERS AGAIN REJECTED. At the last meeting of the Masterton Boroueh Council tenders w6re reoeived for the work of erecting stop banks and forming ornamental waters in the Park, but they were declared to be too high, and rojeoted, and fresh tenders were oalled for the work. At the meeting last evening only two tenders were reoeived for the work, and these being too high, were also rejected. Tbe Mayor suggested that tenders fce oalled for the woris outside of Masterton. "It's all very well to say keep the work in Masterton, but we oan't get the labour," said the Mayor. Finally it was decided, on the motion of Or Ewington, that tbe Counoil do the work by day labour, and purchase tbe necessary' plant.
