FOOTBALL.
THURSDAY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. The Rover 11. (Uarterton) by their win against the Liberals in the final Junior Cup fixture, played on Thursday last, liove won the Wairarupa Thursday Junior Championship, tenting the Albion 11. by a halfpoint. The following are the posi tions cf the various teams:—
THE INTER-ISLAND MATCH. The Kugby struggle for supremacy between the chosen of the North and South Islands will take place on the Athletic Park, Wellington, this afternoon. A keenly-fought game is anticipated, special interest being centred in the matoh because of the largo number of members ot the "All Black" representative team taking part. Porteous, of Otago, being incapacitated, will be unable to play, and his place is being filled by Tyne, of Canterbury. Wallace will bo an absentee from the Northern ranks, and his place is being-taken by Mitohinsou. The teams a3 now constituted are:— North (wtr.te): Dufty, Dive, Mitchmson, Thomson, Hunter, Mynotl, Kiernan, Gillott, Dunning, Watkins, Spencer, O'Suliivau, Francis, Seeling and Cross. Sooth -(black): Stevens, M'Gregor, Adams, Booth, Fryer, O'Leary, Burns, Tyne, Casey, Spiers, M'Donald, Paton, "\Pearoe, Corbett and Deunehy. Mr F. 1. Evans will bo uuatle to act as referee, and the game will be in charge of Mr J. Laughton.
