v THURSDAY ASSOCIATION

I'he third annual meeting of the Thursday Cricket Association was held ou Wednesday evening in Mr W. B. Chennells' office. Mr E. Oollingß oooupied the chair. In presenting his annual report and balance-sheet the secretary (Mr F. P. vVeloh) congratulated members upon the improvement in lust season's cricket, tho affiliation of the Thursday Orioket Association with the governing body in New Zealand helping to tring this about. The inclusion ot Saturday players in Thursday cricket was a groat faotor in stimulating the efforts of the individual players. The compositions were divided into Senior and Junior grades. The Carlton A team won the (former, thus appropriating the' Oreenleea Cup. Ibey are also holders of the Henderson Cup for the ensuing- year. Thia team went right through tho season without losing a match, and deservw great credit for their fine performance. The Carlton 13 team euooeoded m winning the Junior championship, and aro to be ooigratnlatod. Mr J, L. Murray's bat for best batting average iu tho Senior coinpetiEiou was won hy A. Es3cn (Star Cricket Ciub). Mr F. Dupro presented a ball foe tho tie-it, bowling average in the Senior grade, and was won by T. E. Mauusoli (Curierton Cricket Olub). Mr W. 15. Murray and F. Whitton; Chairman, Mr E. Colliuge; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr F. P. Welch; Auditor, Mr G. W. Sellar; Committee, Messrs J. V. Uarrook and S. K. Edwards (Star Cricket Club), 11. Wren and S. Dngarde W.F.C.A.), E. Colliuge and F. P. Welch (Carlton), H. Griffith and JL Wright (Eketahuna).

Delegates from the* Eketahuna Cricket Club attended the meeting and asked co be admitted to the Association. After a lengthy discussion it was deoided, on the motion of Mr E. Welch to admit, them provided they play all matches in Masterton; the Alatlerton .Clubs in the second round to detray train expenses; the Eketahuna Club to pay their portion of the ground fees. It was also decided to admit the Carterton Club on the same conditions as the Eketahuna Crickot Club. Rule 51 was altered to read:— "That a howler must secure at least 20 wickets to he entitled to a trophy." Rule 50 was altered to read:—"A win to count three points to the winning team when played out, and two points if won on the first innings. A loss to count three points agaiust the losing team when played out, nnd two points if lost on the first winnings. A forfeit to couat two points. A draw to count one point to each team." A vote of thanks was accorded to the officers and others who Assisted the Association during the past year.

Mr J. O'Menra, Patron, and Mr A. C. Major, Vice-President, of the Oarltou Cricket Club, have donated £2 2s and £1 Is respeatively to the funds of the Club.
