FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
SEVERAL PEOPLE KILLED.
CARRIAGES BURNINU FURIOUSLY.
NUMBER OF INJURED UNKNOWN.
Received September 20, 9.30 p.m. LONDON, Sectember2o. A fatal railway accident occurred to-day. A crowded Sootoh express frozn King's Cross instead of stopping at Grantham—the brakes apparently failing—went slightly beyond towards a curve, where the and tender parted from the rest of the train, and toppledjaver a steep embankment. The wrench oaused several coaches to leave the rails. They struck the coping of the bridge, and followed the engine down the embankment. Several oairiages are ablaze, and were burning furiously up to the time of telegraphing. Ten of the passengers have been extricated from the ruins, including five (two ladies and three gentlemen) who werd dead. Two others are lying dead in the wreokage. The number of injured is unknown.
The mail-van superintendent is missing.
