QUESTION OF SUCCESSION. Received September 19, 8.47 a.m. BERLIN, September 18. Reoeived September 19, 8.4 a.m. AMSTERDAM, September 18. The principal Dutch newspapers discredit the suggestion of the German press in regard to the succession to the throne, and urge the Government to oonfer universal suffrage, thus enabling the nation to declare its wishes of how it should (be governed in the event of the Orange dynasty becoming extinct. (Queen Wilbelmina was 26 last month. She succeeded to the throne on the death of her father in 1890, andwaß formally inaugurated Sovereign of the Netherlands on September 6th, 1898. On February 7th, 1901, the young Queen married Prince Henry of Meoklenburg-Soh' werin. No living child has yet been born to her. The Petit Parisien, referring recently to pan-German ambitions, wrote:—"lf death were tc-morrow to strike Queen Wilhelmhia, and the Crown were to cass to distant relatives who are Germans, that would trean the beginning of the absorption of Holland by the German Empire. The ambitions and views of Berlin on this question are well known."
