HAWKE'S BAY TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—'Press Association. Tbe Hawke's Bay Golf Championship Tournament was commenced on the Napier Golf Club's Links today. The entries constitute a record for a provincial tournament. In the Men's Cnampionship Kurupo Tareha, G. F. Thorboru, J. Harold, H. Peacock, A. Barraud, L. L Gordon, H. D. Bates, H. Kawhi, V. E. Harman, Kapi ITareha, D. W. Strang, H. J. Smith, N. R. Russell, F. ~'S. Pearce, W. J. Peacock, C. Bennett, qualified for tbe first round. In the Ladies' Championship' Miss Beatson, Miss Scott, Mrs Kurupo, Tareha, Miss McLean, Mrs G. L. Jardine, Miss Fannin,gMiss Jaidine, Miss Fitzherbert, Miss.Balfour, Miss Bennett, Miss Newboid, Missßrajthwaite, Miss Carter, Mrs Moore, Miss Knight, Mins Todd, qualified for the first round. The tournament will be continued to-morrow.
