AN EDITOR PROSECUTED.
CASE DJSMIsSED. By Telegraph—Preas Association. OHRISTOHURCH, Sept. 18. Mv Hughie, the editor of She Truth, waa prosecuted to day by Mr Maopherson, laapeotorof Dairies. The Truth published the article of a special reporter in which the shooting state of certain dairies was described. Maopherson, with a view to proceeding against the dairymen breaches of the Aofc, weufc to Hughie, and asked the name of the reporter, and the names the dairies referred to. IJughie refused o giva the information, and asked hat the requests be made in writing. He was supplied with the requests iu writing, but still refused. Contending that the refusal was an offence under the Act Maopherson took proceedings. After a lengthy argument the Magistrate said the only person liable ti prosecution for refusing to give information was theperson connected with the dairy. He dismissed the case. The Grown Prosecutor said the oase would be taken to the higher Court,
