Received September 18, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, September 17. r The Durban correspondent of the Daily Mail states that Captain MaoFarlane, who died in June last during tba campaign against the Natal rebels, was accidentally killed by a bullet fired by a colonial on the other side of the gorge whioh separated them. Lieutenant Mardhen, of Royston's Horse, who was mortally wounded on the same occasion, was shot during a heavy mist, being mistaken for a rebel in the semi-darkuess.
