FAIRVIEW RIFLE CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Fairview Rifle Club was held in the Fernridge School on Monday evening. Captain D. McGregor presided, and there were 20 members present. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr J. Holmes; Vioe-Presi-dents, Messrs E. Meredith, 3. Hives, ,W. H. L. Gal way, G. H. Perry, B. J. Dolan; Captain, Mr D. MoGregor; Hon. Handioapper, Mr W. Winslade; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr R. J. Dagg; General Committee, Messrs H. Evans, J. T. Dagg, J. Stempa, W. Harcombe, T. G. Chare berlain. It was deoided to open the season on Thursday, September 27th, and to shoot for trophies once a fortnight from that date. It was resolved that the trophies won during the season be presented to the winners at a social to be held at the close of the season. It was decided to write to the Opaki Rifle Club to visit the range and fire a matoh on Easter Monnay with the Fairview Club. It was resolved to allow the Te Ore Ore and Fernridge School Cadets to use the range on Friday afternoons and Saturday morningi. In order to encourage shooting amongst the cadets the Club deoided to donate trophies for competition. Captain D. McGregor presented the Club with a silver-mounted cup for competition; the cup to be won rwice iu succession or three times at intervals. Four new members were elected. It was deoided to ereot a targetshed and procure 3,000 rounds of ammunition.
