It is understood that negotiations are proceeding with western and southern miners for support in the event of the northern minors coming out. Already there is considerable anxiety at Broken Hill] and Melbourne at the prospect of a strike at Broken Hill. The supply of oual on hand is suffiuiout to keep the mines going for two mouths at the outside. DEVELOPMENTS ANXIOUSLY AWAITED. Received September 15, 12.59 a.m. SYDNEY, September 14. Affairs at Newcastle are quiet, and developments are anxiously awaited. The miners' lodges both in the Newcastle and Maitland distriot" overwhelmingly adopted tbe recommendations ot the Committee of Management.
