EKETAHUNA COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Eketahuna County Council was held on Saturday. There were present—Ora Moss (chairman), Redpatb, Davie, Lowes, Falkner, and Pitcaifrhley Leave of absence was granted to Or Drney. The Clerk was instructed to prepare the necessary papers for the raising of theKopikopikn Road loan. The matter of fixing the rating area for the proposed loan was left in the hands of the Overseer. It was decided to ask Mr Youle to produce his plans of his native reserve, so that a comparison might >e made with the County roll of the areas held by him and Mr Lawreooe. It was deoided to write to Mr D. Hercook pointing out to him the damage done to the road owing to his carting piles over it; also drawing his attention to his liability for any damage done to the road. Various repairs to bridges on the Mangaone and Tawataia Roads were authorised. The Overseer was instructed to attend to the repairing of the Mangatainoka groyne. The rental for the old Road Board Office was fixed at 5s per week, the tenant to keep down all noxious weeds. The Clerk was instructed to forward to the settlers of Mangaone a form of a petition for making a separate rate for the purpose of building a bridge in that looality. The Chairman and Ors Faulkner and Pitoaithley were instructed co report at the next meeting on the question of roadmen's hours of employment.
