MARTINBOROUGH STOCK SALE,
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ld., beld a very successful sale at the Martinborough yards, on Tuesday, when about 600 bead of oattle, and a large number of horses, were submitted. There was reoord attendnce of buyers from all parts of the district. The ohief entry was of yearlings, for which there was keen inquiry, and all lineß were cleared under the hammer. For grown cattle there was a fair demand, and most lines were sold. Bidding was brisk for good young draught horses, but baoks were neglected. In sheep only one small line of hoggets were offered, these selling at 15a 3d. Weaner steers, on account of Mr W. G. Olarksoa, sold at 58s; on account Mr W. Hume, 51b; mixed yearlings, on account Mr J. MoDougail, 455; on account Mr H. Bodge, 45s 6d; and on others vendors' account, from 40s; 2-year heifers, 50e; springing heifers, 86a; fat oows, 105s; forward cows, 69a 6d; weanere, 295; rising 3-year bullocks, 90s; 3-year
draught Allies, £35 to £4O, ditto geldiugs, £35; uu broken brake horse, £2l; 3-year half - draught geldiuga and fillies, £2O; buggy ponies, £3O for pair; aged draught horseß from £2B; good harness pony, £l4 15s; hacks from £7 ss; stallion, "Chief Commander," £35; brake, £8 15s.
