TRADES UNION CONGRESS.
Received September 5, 8.50 a m. LONDON, September 4. The Parliamentary Committee advises the Trades Union Congress that it ia no longer content to fight for' a living wage, but demands a higher standard of living in order that workers' families shall participate in all tho good things, and make life bright, happy, and comfortable.
APPEAL FOR AID FOR THE RUSSIAN PEOPLE.
Reoeived September 5,10.56 p.m. LONDON, September 5. The Cnngresc recommended reformed procedure to enable Parliament to carry private members' measures from session to session until accepted or rejected. It was resolved to appeal" to the Trades Sooieties for prompt financial aid for the Russian people. Mr Beu Tillet's resolution in favour of compulsory arbitration in connection witb trades disputes was rejected by a large majority. The Parliamentary Committee was instructed to arrange a conference of labour groups with a view K pf securing a unity of Parliamentary action on strict independent lines.
