THE NEW HOSPITAL.
BUILDING TO BE PROCEEDED WITH. A special meeting ol the Mastertou Hospital Trustees was held, yesterday morning, to finally deal with thequestiou of the new building. Mr A. W. Hogi;, M.ti.R., oocupied the obair, and there were also presem; - Messrs J. A. Renall, W. Harris, J. i 0. Ewington, M. J. 11. Jackson, and J. B. Keith. Tbo Chairman reported that Cabinet had, after considering the circumstances of tha case aud the generous monitor in which the people of the Mastorton district had contributed towards tha cost of the building, decided to give a grout of £2,0U0, inclusive of £I,OOO voted last year, for the now building. Altogether there was at present nearly £,BOOO in hand for the new building. Mr Ewingtou thought the work should be proceeded with as soon as possible, and on his motion, seconded by 14r Renall, it was deo'ded to accept a tender and proceed with the building of tho uew institution at once. , It was fcheu decided to accent the tender of Messrs Corarliue and Whittaker (£8,233) for a building with » tiled roof. The other tenders received were:— W. G. Etneuy £9,23*1, King and Sons £9,717, Sanders Bros. £9,G7G, J. H. Faitshaw £11,171 10s.
