ELEMENTARY AGRICULTURE
THE MASTERTON SCHOOL CLASSES. A meeting of tbe committee appointed in connection with tbe agricultural classes at the Masterton District High School waa held yesterday afternoon. There were present—Messrs JR. Brown, 0. E. Daniel!, D. McGregor, E. H. Waddington, and W. H. Jaokson. "*Mr Jackson submitted a list of articles required for the iug of the plots. The question of funds for purchasing tbe articles was discussed. It was pointed out that there|was £lO in hand, and that tbe School Committee bad promised to give £lO. If the Trust Lands Trustees gave a fgraut of £2O, which would carry a Government subsidy of £2O, the difficulty in the matter of finance would be practically overcome. Messrs Brown, Waddington and McGregor were appointed a deputation to wait on the Trustees at their next iceeting in connection with a grant towards tbe cost of working tbe plot. The same deputation were appointed to wait oiv the Borough Counuil at its next meeting, and ask for a few loads of road .sorapings in order to fill in the front position of the plot. Mr Jankson undertook to interview the Chairman of tbe Masterton County Council with reference to obtaining assistance from that body.
