Y.M.C.A.

BOARD OP MANAGEMENT MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Board of Management of the Y.M.G.A. was held last evening. The Rev. A. M. Johnson oooupied the chair, and there were also present:—Messrs A. Donald, O. O. Feist, A. J. Parton, W. E. Chamberlain, D. E. Parton aDd the Secretary. A lengthy report was received from the speoial committee set up to enquire into the requirements of tne Association. It was stated that a Gymnasium Club had been started, and would meet for practice on Tuesday and Iriday evenings. The opening night had been fixed for Friday next, 31st inst. An Ambulance Corps had also been started, and Dr. J. A. Oowie had undertaken to give his opening address on Tharsday | next. The report went on to state that efforts were being made to start a branch of the White Cross League in Masterton, and a meeting to further consider the matter had been ooavened for Wednesday, September stb. Other minor matters whioh had been recommended were adopted. Hadden and Haughton, London, wrote forwarding several copies of the prospectus of "The Life of Sir George Williams," and asked that these be distributed .amongst members. It was decided to accede to the requeet. Hearty votes of thanks were aocorded all performers at the recent concert held under the auspices of the Association. Rev. A. M. Johnson and Mr A. J. Parton were apppointed a subcommittee to succeed Messrs A. Donald and D. E. Parton retired. The convenor of the Gymnasium Club presented a report on tne progress of that branch of the work and applied for a farther vote of £2 towards the cost of apparatus. This amount was authorised on the assurance of the Committee that the Gymnasium % had already brought new members into the Association. The following new members were elected:— \. R. Potter, W. A. Sigglekow, A. Benge, F. G. Brown, A. R. Qolder, R. E, Williams, A. Johanson, 0. D. MoEwan, W. Harding anl E. Wiikins. An account for £7 5s 6d was passed for payment. It was reported that the sum of £ll 15s had been collected for the piano fund, and that the piano whould be installed in the Y.M.C.A. this week,
