WAR CONTRIBUTION.
LONDON, August 24'. The Johannesburg correspondent of the Daily Mail understands that the Imperial Government has decided to forego the payment of thirty million pounds promised by the Transvaal and Orange River Colony as a contribution towards the expenses of thu Boer War, and recommends instead that the colonies named raise a loan of four millions for agricultural development and land settlement.
