Wednesday, A meet of tbe Bunt Club was held at Whakataki last Monday. The weather was glorious and visitors were present from all over the distriot. 'l'he day's sport was completely spoilt by the number of accidents. Mr Rupert Morrison, while laying tbe drag, bad a nasty fall, and had to be taken to Mr McHutcheon's house in a buggy. Mr H. Molaacs had a finger broken, and Mr J. Oollerton was thrown on his head owing to his horse falling and rendered unconscious for a few minutes. Dr. Hunter bad the most serious fall of the day. His horse turned a complete somersault and struck its rider on the jaw witb its foot, dislocating the hunter's jaw and rendering him unconscious for half an hour. Fourteen huntsmen followed the bounds, and there were eight spills. Tbe large number of visitors were hospitably entertained at afternoon tea by Mr and Mrs MoHutoheon. Mr and Mrs McHutcheon were heartily cheered for their kindness. Tbe following took cart in the run: —Messrs J. Sbaw (huntsman), Starlight; W. Oollerton, Weary Bill, and A.
