By Telegraph—Press Association. WANQANUI, August 23. The Egmont - Wanganui Hunt Club's annual meeting was held this afternoon in fine weather. There was a large attendance. Results:— Hunters' Flat. —Sammy 1, Aquilo 2, Ellndy 3. Also started—Rival. Betting—2 to 1 Sammy. Licensed Victuallers' Steeplechase. —Rapanui 1, Janellfi 2, Betty 3. Also started—Gpaku, Oavil), lambowie and Matatara. Betting —3 to 1 Rapauui. Hack. Flat, 4 furlongs. Lady French 1, Sedgemoor 2, Muse 3. Also started—Compass, Firelight, Irish Rifle, General Peel, Spikie and Linseed. Betting—3 to 1 Lady French. Ladies' Bracelet Steeplechase.— Sammy 1 , llaerekimoa 2, Blanco 3. Also started Fiji, Pride. Betting —2 to 1 Sammy. Hack Flat, 5 furlongs. Rifle 1, Sedgemoor, 2, Albuera 3. Also started —Compass, Hokio, Lady French, Westward, Snikie and Seaman.' Betting—B to 1 Irish Rifle. Hunt Club Steeplechase. —Haorekimoa 1, Rapanui 2, Opaku 3. Also started—Haerelyu, and ;Tam bowie. Betting—6 to 4 Haerekimoa. Hunters' Hurdles.—Valkyrie 1, Flanagan 2, Champion 3. Also started—Cavill, Betty, Coama, and Ellady. Betting—s to 1 Valkyrie.
RANGITIKEI RACING CLUB
Horse-owners are reminded that' nominations for the Rangitlkei Raoing Club's meeting will olose 00 Saturday, August 25th with the Secretary (Mr H. A. Goodall) at Bulls, at 9 p.m. The oourije is in perfect order for raoing, and the steeplechase course has had a good deal of attention bestowed upon it, all the jumps having been renovated and the hen-ooops lengthened. At the last annual meeting of the Raoing Conference the rule relating to definition of hacks was altered, and hurses are now eligible to compete in hack events that have not, at time of nomination, wun a race of the value of 100 sovs, or races of the collective value of 250 sova.
