GAUMONT CHRONOPHONE.

At the Town Hall, on Thursday and Friday, the 23rd aud 24th instant, the Stonham-MDrrison Company will present for the first time in this town tbo Gaumont Chroaophone, the only pioture-talkiug machine ever brought to the colony. The machine is said to a most ingenious contrivance. The chrono, or p'cture projecting portion of it is conneoted by electricity with the oyclophoue portion. The two maohines, viz., the chrono and the cyclophone, when linked together, become one maobine, the chronophone. The chrono is fitted with three electric motors —No I projects the ordinary chrono films, No. 2 runs the cyclophone, aud No. 3 runs the chronophone, whioh produces living pictures that sing, talk, laugh and whistle. A fourth motor is used for synchronising or altering the speed of the chronophone. This is neoessary, as some of the operatic songs require to be produced quicker than the monologue or whistling songs. The company will also show some remarkably fine views of the Elberfield overhead [railway, "The Dangerous Golfers," mixed bathing, and several other pictures." With the company is a well,, selected concert party. The box plans are now open at Miss Rive's, where seats may be reserved.
