A STRANDED STEAMER.
Reoeived Augußt*l6, 11.35 p.m. SYDNEY, August 16. The agents of the steamer Port Chalmers, wbioh is ashore at Cape York, Torres Strait, have been advised that there are good prospects for floating the vessel, which is not leaking. Gear is being forwarded from Thursday Island. It has been decided to'jettison part of the coal cargo.
