NOTICE is hereby given that the Masterton Borough Council will, at a special meeting of the Council to te held at the Borough Council Chamber, Chapel Street, on Monday, the 27th day of August, 1906, at 7.30 make and levy the following ratea for the period commencing on the first dayjcf April, 1906, "andjendiag March, 1907, namely:—■ A General Eato under Seotion 95 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, of Twopence farthing in the £ on the rateable value on the Valuation Roll ot all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton, on fhe basis of the unimproved value. A Libiary Bate under Seotion 109 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, of one-ninth of a penny in the £ on the rateable value on the Valuation Roll of all rateable property within thi Borough of Masterton on the basis of the unimproved value. And that the above rates will be payable at the office of the Borough Council, situate in Chapel Street, in one sum on the First day of September, 1906. Water Kates (ordinary supply) underaction 102 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, as follows: Where the annual rateable value on the Valuation Roll does not exceed £l2 10s, a rate of 10s. Where such rateable value exceeds £l2 10s, a rate of 5 i-er cent, on such value up to £3OO, and 1% per cent, on so much of such value as exceeds £3OO. Onehalf of the respective Watei Fates mentioned above un all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not, sppplied, situate within one hundred yards from any fart of the waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than dwellinghouses. And fhpfc the above water rates will be payable at the office of the Borough .Council, situate in Chapel Street, Masterton, in two eqnul instalments on the first day of September, 1966, and the first day of March, 1907. Notice is also hereby given that the annually-recurring Special Rates will be payable as follows:—l f or providing the annual oharges un the loan of £13,(538 lOs for drainage works, a rate of one halipenny in the £ on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable properly within tho Borough of Masterton special drainage area will be payable at, the office aforesaid in two equal instalments on the first day of September, 1906, and the first day of March, 1907. Notice is hereby also given that the Rate Books containing particulars of all the above rates are now open for inspection at the Town Clerk's Offioe, Chapel Street, Masterton. R.
