QUESTION OF AMALGAMATION

Reuter's Agency states that the elections in Natal will be held in September, and that; Mr Moor, Leader of the Qppojition, has consulted General Botha regarding unification. It is understood that the Boers will resist any amalgamation unless it includes Natal, Transvaal, and Orange River Colony. Received August 10, 9.30 a.m. PIETERMARITZBURG, August 9. The Natal Legislative Council, by 7 votes to 2, rejected the Government's Incoire Tax Bill, which the Assembly bad previously adopted by a large majority.
