WAIRARAPA GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Gun Club was held last evening. Mr A. P. Whatman presided, and there were also present—Messrs E. H. Waddinglon, E. Welch, T. Tbomppon, R. Murray, and 1. H. Harvey. The balance sheet, which was adopted on the motion of Mr Welch, seoonded by Mr Harvey, showed that the receipts Dad been £129 8s lOd (sweeps £55, pigeons £32 15s 9d, subscriptions £9, nominations £7 10a); expenditure £129 5s 4d (stakes and sweeps £45 10s, pigeons £37 13s lid, printing and advertising £ll lis 6d); leaving a credit balance of 3s 9d. The assets were shown as £l9 3s 6d, and the liabilities as £7 15s. It was explained that members' subscriptions for the current year had not yot been oolleoted, as no matches had been held. Mr G. Stanley, Makuri, wrote, designing as a member of the Club. The New Zealand Gun Club wrote notifying that a person in the Hutt Valley had been piaoed on the defaulters' list. On the motion of the Chairman, it was decided to continue shooting during the present season, and hold a match as soon as sufficient pigeons could be procured. It was decided that the match be a sweepstake of £l, less 20 per cent, for expenses, and that the first prize be 60 per cent., the second 30 per cent., and the third 10 per oent. of the receipts,; one nomination, 10 birds, "star," £1 on the first bird, and 40 yards the boundary. The Secretary was instructed to order 200 pigeons for the match. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr A. P. Whatman; Vice-presidents, Messrs T. W. Wardell, J. A. Fuller, and T. H. Harvey; Committee, Messrs X. H. Thompson, R. Murray, E. Welch, J. W. Ooohrane, J. Harvey, junr., R. J. King, and J. Longstaff; Auditor, Mr.E.H.„ Waddington; Handioappei, Mr M. C. O'Connell. A vote of th&nks was aocorded Mr Waddington for bis services as Auditor.
