"CANTERBURY v. WANGANUI. By Telegraph—Press Association, WANGANUI, August 8. The football match, Canterbury v. Wanganui, wat played, today, in the .Recreation Ground, before a large attendance of spectators, and resulted after a strenuous and exciting game in a well-deserved victory for Canterbury -by 16 points to 8. The play from start to finish was very fast and interesting, the work done by the visitors' backs being of a high order, and repeatedly evoked the enthusiastic applause of the spectators. Fraser scored two tries for Canterbury, covnverting both himself. . Fraser also kicked two penalty goals. Pryer played a great game for the visitors, while Fraser gave a fine exhibition of place-kick-ing. Bell and Corby scored tries for Wanganui, one of which Yowler ■converted.
