EDISON'S PICTURES.
Edison's Popular Pictures are to be shown in the Town Hall on August 3fcb and 10th. Of these pictures the Otago Daily Times says:— "The views follow each other with quite startling rapidity, and the waits between the pictures are verj light; in fact, in a good many oases there are none at all. Ibis result is attained by the manipulation of two machines, so that as soon as one finishes the work of the*moment the other takeß op the running. The majority of the films shown are humourous, and some of them are emphatically novel. Some of the views presented are astounding in their realism, one remarkable instance being the reproduction of a great Are in New York. This is a wonderfully long film, and the in • cidents portrayed are so striking as to elioit the most sincere and enthusiastic recognition of the audience. The San Francisco disaster piotures are really good. 'City Ghetto Fish Market, New York,' and 'Fifth Avenue on Easter Monday,' are marvellous reproductions."
