A SANITARY INSPECTOR FOR MASTERTON.
THE MAYOR TO CONFER WITH - DR MAKGILL,
Dr Makgill, Chief Health Officer, attended the meßting of the Masterton Borough Council, last evening, with reference to the appointment of a sanitary inspector for ihe borough. In the course of his remarks Dr Makgill stated that if the person chosen as sanitary inspector met with the approval of the Health Department, he would be prepared to recommend the Minister to grant a substantial subsidy towards the inspector's salary, in order to have the inspector's services in the matter of reporting on infectious diseases and disinfecting houses; the inspector to be under the sole control of the Council. It was decided that the Mayor should confer with Dr Makgill, today, and discuss the question of appointing a sanitary inspector, and report to a future meeting of the Council.
