The Canterbury-Tarauaki representative football match waß played this afternoon at Lancaster Park, aud resulted in a win for Taranaki l:y 6 points to nil. The ground was very muddy, and the game at times re ■solved itself into a mud scramble. Canterbury had the better of the game during the first spell, but failed to score. Shortly after the start, O'Sollivau (Taranaki) had a collarbone brokou, aud was replaced by Harknesa, wno scored the first try. During the second spell Ryan secured a try after a brilliant run from half-way. WAIRARaPA v. WANGANUI. WANGANUI WINS. ■ WANGANUI, Augusts. | The Wairarapa-Wanganui re t .re sentative football match was played, yesterday afternoon, m a gale of wind. The game was evenly contested, Wanganui winniug by 12 points to 9. The local men played with the wind behind them in the first spell, during which they scored a try, and Wairarapa scored two tries. e Wanganui played better in the second spell, and scored two tries and kicked a penalty goal. Wairarapa soored another try. Mr Powdrell, of Hawera, was referee.
